Frequently Asked Questions
Who are Blue Pulse Sleep Strips for?
Anyone who has to sleep during the day: night-shift nurses and healthcare workers, first responders, warehouse and factory crews, security, dispatchers, and rotating-shift workers. They work for occasional nighttime sleeplessness too.*
Why a strip instead of a pill or gummy?
After a night shift, your best chance to fall asleep is the first window after you get home, because your body clock's wake-up signal gets stronger as the morning goes on. A pill or gummy has to be swallowed and digested before it does anything. Research on immediate-release oral melatonin puts the average time to peak blood levels at about 50 minutes. A Blue Pulse strip dissolves on your tongue in seconds and starts in your mouth, not your stomach, with no water and nothing to wait on.
Does the strip work faster than a pill?
The strip itself dissolves in seconds, while a swallowed pill has to be digested first. Research on mouth-dissolving melatonin formats has shown they can reach peak levels faster than swallowed tablets, but Blue Pulse has not been tested head-to-head against pills, and everyone responds differently.
What's in each strip?
Melatonin 1 mg, valerian root extract 50 mg, lavender extract 20 mg, chamomile extract 10 mg and hibiscus extract 10 mg, in a raspberry-flavored strip. Every dose is listed. There is no proprietary blend. Full ingredients are on the product page.
Why only 1 mg of melatonin?
Many sleep strips and gummies use 5 mg or more. Clinical guidance for day sleep commonly uses low doses, and higher doses aren't necessarily more effective. They're more often linked to next-day grogginess. We kept it low on purpose, because you have another shift coming.
When should I take it?
Once you're home from your shift and in bed. Place one strip on your tongue and let it dissolve. Do not take it before driving, and do not use more than one strip per day.
Will it make me groggy for my next shift?
We chose a low dose with no antihistamines to help avoid that, but everyone responds differently. Try your first strip before a day off so you know how it affects you.
Does it contain Benadryl, diphenhydramine or doxylamine?
No. Blue Pulse contains no antihistamines.
Does it contain THC or CBD?
No. Blue Pulse contains no THC or CBD.
Can I take it with my medications, or while pregnant or nursing?
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you take any medication, have a medical condition, or are pregnant or nursing. Not for use by anyone under 18.
Is it safe around pets?
Our strips contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Keep the tin out of reach of pets and children.
What does it taste like?
Raspberry. Each strip dissolves in seconds, with no water needed.
What if it doesn't work for me?
You're covered by our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee, even if the tin is opened. See our guarantee page for details.
